Perhaps you all are aware that Islamia Hospital was established in the year 1926.

It was started at the beginning in the form of Islamia Charitable Dispensary at 22, Zakaria Street, Kolkata, started by one Late Ramjoo alias Bhola Mian with active support of some benevolent kind hearted persons. It was later handed over to Memon Jamat due to financial constraints and there after in 1931 it was shifted to 1, Bolai Dutta Street, Kolkata, under the name of Islamia Hospital.

Later in the year 1942, a building at the present location was donated by one kind hearted and God fearing gentleman namely Late Haji Md. Din Sahib, a businessman from Chiniot, Punjab and the hospital was shifted to the present premises in December, 1942 during second world war. However, the hospital started functioning in its own building with effect from 1st January, 1943. Thus the aspirations and the noble cause undertaken by the founders were fulfilled and the hospital in its real sense came into existence. The other building was constructed adjacent to the existing building several years after with the sincere efforts and active support of Mulla Jan Mohd. and others. Today the present glorious new building amalgamated both the premises at the existing premises No. 73, Chittaranjan Avenue, Kolkata-700 012 in the year 2016.

Inspite of our various constraints, we endeavor our best to extend the facilities of treatment and diagnosis to the poor and downtrodden people by granting concession through Swasthya Sathi and various facilities with very concessional charges. It is worth mentioning here that this hospital is rendering services to the suffering humanity irrespective of caste, creed or religion since its inception.
